Winton Cup

A belated congratulations to Daniel Einchcombe who was a member of the South East Team that won the Winton Cup last weekend.  Daniel won an excellent 23 of her 27 fights to not only help the South East Womens' Sabre team to victory, but also to the overall South East Winton Cup win.

Other Camden fencers' results at the event were as follows:

Bridget Pleasant (Yorkshire) 4th overall
Nathan Potter (Wales) 5th overall
Sam Gibbs (Southern) 8th overall

The Winton Cup was started in 1950 by brothers Bobby and Nicholas Winton, in an effort to bring together the different regions of the country in fencing.  Over the years the event has grown to become the most popular all weapon team event in this country and the trophy that they donated is still used to this day.
