Our hero Patricia Aiyenuro recognised by British Fencing

Picture
Chair of Camden Fencing, Patricia Aiyenuro,  was presented with the Unsung Hero award tat this years British Fencing Association Dinner.
Pat is an amazing woman who totally deserves this recognition. She has been involved in the sport for over a decade since her son Soji started at the club. She even took up the sport herself until she had an injury and had to stop.
She took over the chairmanship and the running of the club, arguably one of the most successful fencing clubs in the country, two years ago. Through her work with Camden Fencing Club, she has been successful in making fencing available to those who wouldn't normally have to access the sport, kids from all backgrounds. She is about to launch a women's only program for all ages, religions and backgrounds.
In addition, she is a British Fencing team manager and has held this role at dozens of world cups and major championships.
She has done all the above as an unpaid volunteer, whilst holding a full time day job as a single parent, and completing a PHD.
Her tireless enthusiasm and selfless dedication is an inspiration to everyone she knows and in the world of fencing.
