This is not the worst thing ever. I mean, you managed to enjoy yourself, right? If you are going to be hard on yourself, then at least understand that life is enjoyable. I know that you wanted the entire tournament, but I just do not see why you are so hard on yourself. We are all going to improve, and believe me, as long as you work hard, then you are going to be the best version of what you possibly can.
