Bronzes for Bridget and JJ at the Leon Paul Sabre British Open

Congratulations to Bridget Pleasant and JJ Webb who both won bronzes at the Leon Paul British Open on 28th January.
In the womens event Bridget was seeded first after the poules and with 15-6 wins over both Harriet Davies and then Jennie Tillott she cruised through to a semi finals encouter against Harriet Dixon.  Despite leading to the break Bridget's opponent came back at her in the second half and edged Bridget out 15-13 in an exciting fight. In the other semi final Daisy Hutton beat Kate Daykin 15-12 but then lost to Harriet in the final 15-7. Congratulations also to Helen Fairhead who finished 7th in her first event back since taking some time out of fencing.
Camden had a large contingent in the Mens' event with two of them battling through to the last eight tableau; these were Soji Aiyenuro and JJ Webb.  At this stage Soji was beaten 15-13 by James Edwards and JJ beat Zach Hamilton 15-6.  In the semi final JJ came up against his old rival and British team mate Will Deary and was unfortunately beaten 15-11, in the other semi James Edwards beat Jamie Craze 15-14.  Will went on to win the competition beating James 15-8 in the final.

This is what I want to go and read about all of the time. I think that the helm is one of the best things on the internet right now. I understand that there are no real threats to it, which is why I love it. I think that people need to start reading this a lot more frequently, still. Sure, it is not too easy to do this, but believe me, it is still the best of both worlds.
