Due to the lack of entries so far for the Five a Side Tournament at the Social/Fundraiser this Saturday I have decided to amend the entry criteria. There are now no restrictions, you simply need to have five players.
Match duration will be dependant on number of teams but I would anticipate matches of approx 10 mins. So don't hold back, players of all ages and levels welcome, this is a fun event. You don't need to be a club member to play ....so no excuses for parents of club members either !!
Please email me your teams as soon as poosible, if you're looking for a team then email me and I'll find you one.
p.s. My team is ready !!
The Leon Paul International Sabre and Epee camp last week gave Camden's younger fencers some excellent preparation for the forthcoming season. The Sabre was run by Ian Willams, James Williams and assisted by Soji Aiyenuro. Fencers came from as far as USA and the Philippines to take part in the training, giving our fencers some excellent sparring partners.
Yesterday the fencers from the camp joined others from throughout the UK to fence in the LPJS International tournament. Well done to the following Camden fencers for their results:
Jasper Hyams 1st
Linxuan Yang 3rd
Tulliver Hyams 3rd
Jack Preston-Cowell 3rd
1 week till the fundraiser and bake-off!
There's still time to dust off your apron and get baking so as to showcase your prize bake on Saturday.
Bake your goods at home and bring it along on the day where there will be judging mid afternoon by Tamas, Adult fender but also qualified Chef, Ronald, ex- Club Chair and Patricia, current chair.
You are free to bake any bake of your choice ( sweet or savoury) with judging to be scored on
4. ingredients ( how healthy or as healthy a bake can be )- please bring your recipe along.
There's prizes to be awarded but it should also be a fun way to showcase your hidden talent. We can also have a junior category should we have any junior bakers out there!
Unless bakers have any objection we plan to sell off their bakes so that everyone can enjoy but also in the spirit of fundraising. This will of course be after completion of judging.
If anymore bakers are interested please email Shannon directly on email@example.com.
Ready, Steady, Bake!

Camden Coach Richard Kruse narrowly missed out on a medal in Rio today, finishing fourth in the men's Foil event.
Richard (World no 6) had a bye through to the L32 and at that stage he saw off Hamid Sintes (ALG) 15-4. In the L16 Richard had to beat off strong opposition from the Italian Andrea Cassara, winning 15-12. In the last 8 Richard faught brilliantly to beat Gerek Meinhardt (USA) 15-13 taking him through to the Olympic semi final against Alex Massialas (USA). Despite a good start from Richard the American (world no 1) proved too strong and came out eventual winner 15-9. In the bronze medal fight off Richard fought Timur Safin (RUS), who had earlier beaten GB team mate James Davis in the L16. The Russian built an early lead but despite an excellent come back from Richard he was closed out 15-13 forcing him in to fourth place.
This is the closest that any British fencer has come to an Olympic medal since 1964, we're disappointed for you Richard .....but very very proud !!
Laurance Halsted was Team GBs third fencer in the mens foil event; unfortunately despite having a bye through the L64 he lost his L32 match to Haiwei Chen (CHN) 15-9.
Camden FC wishes the boys the very best of luck for their team event on Friday
