The Leon Paul International Sabre and Epee camp last week gave Camden's younger fencers some excellent preparation for the forthcoming season. The Sabre was run by Ian Willams, James Williams and assisted by Soji Aiyenuro. Fencers came from as far as USA and the Philippines to take part in the training, giving our fencers some excellent sparring partners.
Yesterday the fencers from the camp joined others from throughout the UK to fence in the LPJS International tournament. Well done to the following Camden fencers for their results: U9 Boys Jasper Hyams 1st U11 Girls Linxuan Yang 3rd U15 Boys Tulliver Hyams 3rd Jack Preston-Cowell 3rd 1 week till the fundraiser and bake-off!
There's still time to dust off your apron and get baking so as to showcase your prize bake on Saturday. Bake your goods at home and bring it along on the day where there will be judging mid afternoon by Tamas, Adult fender but also qualified Chef, Ronald, ex- Club Chair and Patricia, current chair. You are free to bake any bake of your choice ( sweet or savoury) with judging to be scored on 1. Taste; 2. presentation; 3. Textures; 4. ingredients ( how healthy or as healthy a bake can be )- please bring your recipe along. 5. Creativity There's prizes to be awarded but it should also be a fun way to showcase your hidden talent. We can also have a junior category should we have any junior bakers out there! Unless bakers have any objection we plan to sell off their bakes so that everyone can enjoy but also in the spirit of fundraising. This will of course be after completion of judging. If anymore bakers are interested please email Shannon directly on sva_murphy@yahoo.com. Ready, Steady, Bake!
