30/4/2016 5th Place for Lumeng in SheffieldCongratulations to Lumeng Yang who was 5th at the British Youth Championships in Sheffield today. Lumeng won all her poule fights and was seeded 3rd; receiving a bye to the last 32. In the L32 she beat Megan Pick (Midlands) 15-7 and then Beth Taylor (Northern Ireland) 15-12 in the last 16. At that stage she unfortunately lost 15-8 to Mia Fashokun the eventual winner. Well done Lumeng...our first L8 of the championships !!

The team finished in 13th place; the full results can be seen on the FIE website at www.fie.ch
Below: post competition Curtis and JJ relax with the rest of the British team in Rio It was a very successful weekend for the club at two different Leon Paul series events: Newham Foil On Saturday at the Newham Foil event Lucas Mohaupt in his first ever competition finished a very credible 26th in the Under 10 boys. In the U14 boys Louis Decaudaveine was 15th whilst his team mate Jean-Baptiste Baigneres fought through a strong field to take the gold. MX Sabre On Sunday at the MX Sabre event in Sevenoaks the club achieved an impressive medal tally, the results are as follows: Jasper Hyams gold in the U9 boys Linxuan Yang gold in the U11 girls Frankie Lambe Thompson L8 U11 boys Luc Barrier and Daniel Lindsay L16 U13 boys Kajetan McDonnell gold, Tully Hyams silver, Jack Preston-Cowell bronze U15 boys Well done to all, a great weekend for the club !! Jean-Baptiste wins Gold in Newham Linxuan and Jasper both won gold Kajetan, Tully and Jack take gold, silver and bronze respectively

He was joined on the podium by Curtis Miller who took bronze. Congratulations to JJ and Curtis and well done to all our fencers who took part this year. A full set of results can be viewed here
She has done all the above as an unpaid volunteer, whilst holding a full time day job as a single parent, and completing a PHD.
