25/5/2016 Order Your Camden HoodieClub hoodie tops We are going to do another round of orders for club tracksuit tops at the end of next week, so that they will arrive before the summer break so please get in touch with JoJo ASAP if you would like one. Order deadline Friday 3rd June 2016 The tops are available in the following unisex sizes: Small: 34" - 36" Medium: 38" - 40" Large 42" - 44" X Large 46" - 48" XX Large 50" - 52" Child sizes are: 7 - 8yrs 9 - 11yrs 12 - 13yrs (Please note the child sizes are overhead hoodies, no zip) Plenty of members already have the tops so you should be able to try one on to check the size if you're not sure. If it helps, Ian is a large, JoJo is a small and a few of our 11 year olds tried on the child size and it fitted nicely with room for growth spurts. If you have "longer than average" arms, go for the larger size. The tops cost £30 for adult sizes and £25 for child. If you'd like to order one please email your size to: merchandise.camdenfencing@gmail.com A £10 deposit by bank transfer or in cash on club night is requested when you place your order - or you can pay in full on ordering (this would be preferred) Thank you 19/5/2016 Grantham Summer Camp Dates AnnouncedThe 2016 annual Ian and James Williams high performance residential fencing training camp (Sabre), will take place during the period 1st to 5th of August 2016. This camp will be held at Prince William of Gloucester Barracks (PWOG Bks), Grantham, Lincs NG31 7TJ. This is a camp aimed at fencers 16 years of age and above.
As usual the camp will focus on high quality sparring, sports specific conditioning and technical lessons. Those who have attended this venue before, are aware of the high quality of the training facilities and catering. As usual places are restricted to enable all attendees to gain full benefit of this pre-season preparation so book early to ensure your attendance. Having been seeded no 1 after the poules, Bridget quickly proceeded to the semi final stage where she beat Caroline Clancy 15-3 and then Michelle Narey 15-6 in the final. Well done Bridget !! 17/5/2016 Fencing Demo At Waterloo StationTo all club members

We are looking to request slots between 5-8pm if you would like to take part in one of the demo matches or are able to spare a little time that evening to help out with logistics or chat to the public then please let Pat know as soon as possible (email: nazarae@hotmail.com) Your help would be appreciated. British Fencing is hosting an exciting event as part of its partnership with Wilkinson Sword at Waterloo Station on Thursday 9th June to showcase the sport and encourage people to get involved in some way – from an active participant in the sport itself, to following and supporting our team in Rio. The day will be running from 12noon through until 8pm with compered fencing demonstrations taking place, opportunities for people to have a go with plastic fencing kit and a reaction game to allow people to test their reaction speeds. As part of the event, we are keen to get representatives of all weapons, ages and abilities from local clubs along to help promote the sport as well as using it as an opportunity to advertise your club. 16/5/2016 A Very Successful Home TournamentThe Camden LPJS Sabre tournament proved to be a record for the club yesterday with 27 of our young fencers taking part; we have never had as many Camden fencers compete in one event before. Our fencers performed really well in the competition and we came away with an impressive 3 gold, 2 silver and 6 bronze medals across the various age groups. The last youth session will be on Mon 18th July and we reopen and return to normal schedule from Monday 5th September. The last intermediate adult session will be on Wednesday 20th July and will reopen and return to normal schedule from Wednesday 7nd September. The last senior session will be on Tuesday 19th July and will re-open and return to normal schedule from Thursday 1st September. In addition the club will be open for seniors and intermediates on the following dates in August: Tuesday 9th August Tuesday 16th August Tuesday 23rd August Thursday 25th August Tuesday 30th August If in doubt please look on the club website's calendar 9/5/2016 JJ Wins Bronze at The Cole CupIt was another sucessful weekend for the club at the Cole Cup international satelite tournament at the Leon Paul Centre.
In the womens' event Bridgett Pleasant made the top 8. In the mens' event both James Potter and Curtis Miller achieved top 8 finishes whilst Jonathan Webb was 3rd. Jonathan (JJ) had an excellent win over Koch (Germany) 15-14 in the quarter finals, but eventual winner Polossifakis (Can) proved too strong edging him out 15-8 in the semi finals. Other Camden fencers Nathan Potter and Julian Ghosh finished 25th and 26th respectively. Congratulations to all our fencers !! 4/5/2016 Camden Trophy ResultsCongratulations to James Potter for his win last night at the Camden Trophy. James fought off stiff competition from Sam Gibbs winning by one hit in the final. Soji Aiyenuro (winner for the two previous months) and Barry Coulter were equal third. Well done guys !!
